Webpage of the Virgo Cluster community

After the  Ringberg Workshop on the Virgo Cluster, which was held on 14.-17. June 2002
at Ringberg Castle (Bavaria, Germany), it became clear that there is a need to bring together all
astronomers working on the Virgo Cluster. The ultimate goal would be to form a Virgo Cluster
community that can have a maximum impact, in order to push forward the study of the Virgo
Cluster.

This webpage is thought to provide a first platform to

• facilitate communication between the different research groups,
• provide informations on the current status of research on the Virgo Cluster,
• provide informations on available data,
• gather forces for new telescope proposals,
• distribute news and recent publications on the Virgo Cluster.
