The Star*s Family Logo

The Star*s Family logo features two kernels: the main master files of StarWorlds and StarBits, surrounded by the derived products.

A possible subliminal message might come from the general aspect of the eyes of an owl, symbol of wisdom ... (hm!)

Obviously stars have to appear in the logo because of the name of the product line. The larger central stars surrounded by the smaller ones give also a symbolic idea of a `family', the second word in the product line name. Additionally, as the common small star indicates, the master files are not unrelated (similar field coverage, common compilatory work, ...).

Although this was not initially intended, observers pointed out the similarity with the circle of twelve stars appearing on the European flag. This is basically correct except that here the stars are blue (the background color of the European flag) instead of yellow (the color of the central stars in the logo - absent from the European flag).

Actually one could say that the Star*s Family is European in essence: it has been initiated in Belgium in the late seventies, continued afterwards in Spain in the early eighties, and since then in France.

Additional comments:

In it I see the union of two circles, one obviously is Europe, but the fact that there are two circles suggests the union between Western and Eastern worlds.
