Meeting venue


The meeting will be held in the main building of Strasbourg Observatory. For the location click here.

The Observatory is located a pleasant 20-25 minutes walk away from the spectacular cathedral that marks the old city center of Strasbourg. The Observatory is also accessible by tram (tram stop Observatoire), and the single ticket costs about 1.40 € (see Public transportation below).

Travel information


By plane

There are daily flights from major cities in France to the international airport of Strasbourg (SXB). Most of the flights are operated by Air France.

The city center can be accessed from the airport by taking a shuttle train or a cab. The train platform station (gare de Entzheim-AĆ©roport) is accessible by walking distance from the airport terminal, and there are up to 4 shuttles per hour on weekdays. A one-way ticket costs 2.20 €. The timetables are available here.

By train

Strasbourg is connected to Paris with a special train called the TGV (train de grande vitesse - high-speed train). The trip from Paris takes about 2 hours and 20 minutes, and a round-trip ticket costs about 140 €.

From Strasbourg train station, the observatory can be easily reached by taking the tramway line C. The line C runs from Gare centrale (train station) and makes a stop at Observatoire (closest stop to the Observatory).

Public transportation

The Observatory can be accessed by tramway lines C, E and F, by dropping off at stop Observatoire. The tickets can be bought from the CTS machines located on each platform station, and the tickets should be validated on the small machines at the side before boarding any tram. A single ticket costs 1.40 €, and can be paid by coins and credit card.
